This event also celebrates the mission of City Year Buffalo: to advance educational equity by supporting students and schools through the power of service and partnerships. City Year AmeriCorps members work alongside teachers in Buffalo schools to provide critical academic, social, and emotional supports, helping students stay on track to graduate and reach their full potential.
In addition to honoring Chancellor King, the event will recognize key champions whose leadership and partnership have been vital to City Year Buffalo’s impact. The City Year Buffalo Champion Award will be presented to the organization’s founding champions who helped launch City Year Buffalo. The City Year Buffalo Education Award will honor SUNY Erie Community College for their dedication to student success, and the City Year Buffalo Corporate Champion Award will be presented to KeyBank in recognition of its continued commitment to education, service, and the Buffalo community.
Together, this celebration highlights the collective power of service, leadership, and partnership in strengthening schools and expanding opportunity for students across Buffalo and New York State.
